To help prepare you for getting started with Blackcart, we've compiled a checklist of key access and information you'll need in order to complete setting up your Blackcart account.
Task 1: Get Started Page
Starting here, you will need to register for your company's Blackcart account.
Required Access & Permissions:
- Access to the email account you are using to register the account (you will be sent a confirmation link for activating your account and continuing to Tasks 2 - 5)
Required Fields:
- First and Last Name: primary account owner
- Email address: primary account owner)
- Store name
- Store website: customer-facing website URL
- Shopify Domain: The URL or web address tied to your Shopify store. This will contain 'myshopify.com'.
Task 2: Shopify Custom App Setup
Required Access & Permissions:
- Admin access to your Shopify store with permissions to Develop apps.
- Access to your Blackcart account (via email in task 1)
Required Fields:
After following the steps to install the Blackcart custom app, you will be required to enter the following information into your Blackcart account:
- Admin API Access Token
- Storefront API access token
- API Key
- API Secret Key
Task 3: Store Information
Required Fields:
- Returns Policy URL
- Customer Service email address
Task 4: Connect Stripe
Here you will be required to create and connect a Stripe Express account to Blackcart for the purpose of Blackcart payouts.
Required Access & Permissions
Note that Stripe has a single platform policy where they do not allow multiple platforms to connect to the same Stripe account. So even if you already have a Stripe account, you will need to go through the steps for creating a new one.
You will need access to the following information when creating a new Stripe account:
- Authorization from your company to create a Stripe account for the purpose of Blackcart payouts
- Mobile number
- Email address
- Billing address
- Banking Information:

- Currency
- Transit number
- Institution number
- Account number
Task 5: Returns Integration
Blackcart requires all merchants to use our Customer Portal for try before you buy order returns. Blackcart is able to generate return labels for your customers (in the Customer Portal) through our integration with your EasyPost account.
Required Access & Permissions:
- access to your company's EasyPost account, or if you do not have one yet, authorization to create an EasyPost account for your company
- access to your preferred carrier account for generating return labels (this account will be connected to EasyPost)
- Banking information to set up EasyPost billing
Required Fields:
- EasyPost account API Keys
- Returns Shipping Address
